Leeds United have reportedly completed the signing of goalkeeper Rory Mahady from Celtic.
The Lowdown: Busy summer
The Whites brought in a number of players at first-team level over the summer, with a number of coaching changes made at Thorp Arch.
Victor Orta also found time to bolster the clubās academy ranks, with Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins two high-profile academy additions from Manchester City and West Ham respectively.
Max McFadden joined from Colchester United and Charlie Crew from Cardiff City, and it looks as if Leeds have now secured the services of another highly-rated teenager.
The Latest: Mahady arrives
Mahady announced on social media that he was leaving Celtic Park, with reports saying after that a move to Elland Road was likely.
LUFC Youth then took to Twitter on Monday evening to share an image of the ākeeper signing his Leeds contract, stating the teenager has penned a two-year scholarship and will link up with the U18s.
The Verdict: Exciting coup
Labelled as a ārising starā by Football Insider, Mahady has been regarded as āone of the best young keepers in Britainā and only turned 16 last month.
He was wanted by both Manchester City and Tottenham back in May when Leeds were first linked back in May, so not only has Orta had the Scot on his radar for a while it appears he’s fended off some decent competition for his signature.
It will be interesting to see how the goalkeeper develops over the next two years, and should things go well, youād expect a professional contract will follow.
